Developing people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Matthew 28:18-20
Though Immanuel Baptist Church has been around for over 100 years (est. 1907), we are experiencing a revitalization! Not the kind you might expect of expansion of programs, buildings, and budgets, but rather the kind that comes with a church rediscovers its core purpose for existence and returns to those foundations. We are returning to the Gospel and the sharing of the Gospel, allowing the Good News that brought us to God, shape our church and its future.
Immanuel Baptist Church joyfully embraces the focus given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ: Developing People to be Fully Devoted Followers of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus taught us there are
3 Key Relationships of a Disciple’s Life. We describe these relationships as UP, IN, & OUT!
1. UP: Worshipping God (consistently & vibrantly, both privately and publicly). Mark 1:35; Luke 4:16
2. IN: Small Groups (Jesus spent the majority of His time investing in and growing His closest followers through teaching and accountability). Luke 5:1-11; Luke 9:1-10
3. OUT: Sent to Serve and to Share with Others (Jesus had compassion for and acted toward the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of people. He then sent His followers to do the same). Luke 4:18; John 20:21
